Physical activity has always played an integral part of my life from childhood to present day. I was involved in sports at an early age and continued to stay active throughout my high school years participating in both soccer and basketball. I attended college at The University of Tennessee and received a degree in Psychology. It was here that I began to realize the importance of the mind-body connection and took an interest in health. My desire to help others achieve a better quality of life and a love of working closely with others motivated me to pursue a career in physical training.
I accepted a job at a corporate gym as a personal trainer in 2002. I was determined and excited to make physical education a career the only question left was how I could effectively assist people. I did well in the role completing NASM-OPT, NASM-SFS, and NCSF certifications. These nationally recognized certifications along with a natural ability to relate to others placed me in a senior trainer position and opened the door to managing. In the end this was not the path I felt was most conducive to creating positive change in my life or the lives of those I work alongside. I was fortunate enough at that time to be directed to the C.H.E.K Institute to study in a model created by Paul Chek, a leader and innovator highly regarded in the fitness/health industry. My friend and now business partner shared in the desire to learn and we enrolled in the C.H.E.K Institute together. I didn’t realize at the time what a wonderful opportunity I was undertaking. After completing an intensive Exercise Coach course my view of training and assisting others in achieving optimal health was uprooted. The C.H.E.K program presented a model of health that encompassed mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical wellbeing. For the first time I had a clear idea of what achieving optimal health meant and my continuing education through the C.H.E.K Institute continues to be one of the best experiences of my life.
I am currently a level II C.H.E.K Practitioner and a level II C.H.E.K Holistic Lifestyle Coach working to complete the C.H.E.K program. I am committed to practicing and passing on the knowledge I have gained while continuing to stay open to new philosophies and experiences. I truly believe the idea of optimal health has been lost in the present day health and fitness industry. The market is flooded with supplements and equipment that promise to change your life in days with minimal amounts of work. This faulty model continually breeds failure and frustration. I witness this on a daily basis and strive to break that pattern. Full Circle Fitness Coaching doesn’t rely on gimmicks or empty promises. We provide you with a model that requires education, hard work, and a desire to feel your best. I promise if you bring the desire to be healthy we can help guide you to a better wellbeing.
